What is a Weft ?

Weft or Weaving:

Hair which is sewn at the top end either by machine or hand is known as weft. Hair sewn by machines are known as machine wefts and similarly hand sewn hair is termed as hand made weft. Any weft usually weighs around 100 gms. Depending on their type they are categorized into different grades.

Exodus Machine Wefts

Though it is a common practice using conventional stitching machines with single needle to make machine weft, it really makes the weft thicker and application of glue is also not possible. Despite several stitches, the hair fall is obvious in the long run.

Professional HAIR WEFTING MACHINE SET consists of a combination of High Speed Double & Single Needle Lock Stitch Industrial Sewing Machines. In all, three machines will be fixed in one table and functions as mentioned below.

When the hackled and cleaned human hair is placed in the first machine, it sews the hair with the double needle and pushes the hair to the next machine for making a thin weft and in turn folds the hair and sends it to the third machine which stitches further and runs it to the glue box where a glue is applied on a roller atop the wefted hair to prevent hair fall. Then the weft is further stitched using the single needle sewing machine to produce the final product.

The glue mark on the weft signifies the strength & superiority of the product. This area usually merges with the hair on application. So client need not mistake it for any defect in quality. It is in fact a sign to indicate that the glue has been applied to strengthen the hair. Under hot climatic conditions, the glue mark is sometime visible but usually it merges with the weft.

We use established brands like JUKI of Japan, BROTHER of Japan, and UNICORN & SAMJUNG of Korea. Even we take precaution to import expensive glue to avoid hair fall. Our product is strong and durable when compared with the wefts made by single needle machines. Hence our wefts are much superior in terms of quality than what is available in the local market.

Exodus Micro Wefts

These are again hand tied wefts made manually using 3 threads to weave the hair in a particular pattern. Micro wefts are smaller in size compared to Hand tied wefts. It is advised not to cut the weft and if you intend to cut please tie off the cut ends or reinforce with glue to avoid shedding.

On an average a skilled person can weave up to a maximum of 1 piece per day that is a person can weave only 100 gm of hair per day. This is why micro wefts are usually more expensive than other wefts as the process is laborious.

Exodus Handtied Wefts

These are wefts made manually using 8 threads to weave the hair in a particular pattern to make the weft. Usually hand tied wefts are small in size and allows the hair to hold tighter. A machine stitch is run on the weft again to make it stronger. It is advised not to cut the weft. It will loosen and shed. However, if you intend to cut the hand-tied wefts, please tie off the cut ends or reinforce with glue to ensure that the hair will not untangle. Because the wefts are made by hand there is greater control over ensuring stability of the hair extension.

On an average a skilled person can weave up to a maximum of 3 - 4 pieces per day. That is 300 to 400 grams of hair can be woven per day. It needs enormous manual skills and training to weave continuously.
